The energy industry is undergoing rapid and dramatic changes, moving away from fossil fuels to alternative energy sources. At the same time, the risks posed by climate change and aging infrastructure requires an array of dynamic and innovative solutions to deliver resilient utility services.

This great energy transition is still in its early stages, and presents significant technical, logistical, and market challenges. Decarbonization will require detailed planning, multi-disciplinary collaboration, significant financial resources, and motivated staff to support successful implementation. This is a senior leadership position and the successful candidate will be responsible for growing the business and maintaining a positive culture.

As a Geographic Manager, you\xe2\x80\x99ll work closely across operations, sales, and technology functions providing leadership as we expand our energy transitions portfolio. You can be based anywhere in North America.

Your primary responsibilities will focus upon 1) growth of delivery capability, both in North America and leveraging global resources, for electrical transmission and distribution engineering design projects for utility, industrial and municipal clients, 2) development and execution of market strategy to support Jacobs\xe2\x80\x99s growth in the Energy Transitions market specific to transmission and distribution, and 3) collaborating with Client Account Managers and sales professionals on pursuits of strategic importance to the firm. This will include extensive client dialogue, team building, and development of differentiating strategies.

Other responsibilities will include client-facing delivery in leadership roles to develop implementation strategies for large programs, responsible for overall work progress, technical performance and client and stakeholder satisfaction. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be expected to possess highly collaborative and sophisticated communication and problem-solving skills and finesse. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to anticipate challenges and manage \xe2\x80\x9cup and out\xe2\x80\x9d while supporting large teams responsible for the daily details of project delivery.

You will have held roles of increasing responsibility in supporting electrical and utility infrastructure engineering, construction, and operations including management of single projects to delivery of complex programs. This is not a development position, but a role considered by Jacobs to represent the peak of an advanced professional career.

Typical salary range for this position is $250,000 - $350,000 and is commensurate with experience relative to the position

  • Bachelor\'s or Advanced Degree in Engineering
  • At least 15 years of design experience working with utility clients and transmission and distribution projects.
  • Proven leadership skills in growing and developing project delivery teams.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills
