The IT Projects & Sustainment team provides value through the implementation of technology that supports customer\xe2\x80\x99s excellence. As part of this team, the Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Geographic Information Systems technology, which is a core component of integrated information systems and the corporate data warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and overseeing technical system resources and operations, such as data flow, application development, conferring and coordinating with user organizations and GIS personnel to determine user needs, while enforcing GIS standards and complying with all corporate safety health and environmental rules and operating procedures. Developing GIS project schedules and work programs to support organization-wide GIS operations. Participating in development and testing of interfaces. Document items/issues to be addressed in later projects.
  • Overseeing all activities associated with the training, implementation, technical documentation and operation of GIS.
  • Development and configuration in the software necessary to provide the group with the tools required to function effectively.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in one of the following disciplines:
    • Computer Science
    • Science \xe2\x80\x93 Geomatic Engineering
    • Science in Computer Science
    • Information Technology.
  • A minimum of 6 years related GIS work experience, including a minimum of:
    • 2-years experience with ESRI ArcGIS Suite 10.6 or higher at the technical level, such as developing applications and maintaining a geometric network.
    • 1 year experience with software configuration.
    • 1 year experience working in a programming environment.
Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate:
  • Expert level technical trouble-shooting skills.
  • Strong client focus and be a proven team player.
  • Clear and effective oral communication skills.
  • Ability to confront difficult issues with the appropriate response with stakeholders.
An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised, and preference may be given to those with experience using Schneider ArcFM, MS SQL Server, Safe Software Inc. FME or have previous GIS experience in the Utilities industry. An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
