The opportunity & how you will create impact

Reporting to the Director, AI Strategy & Initiatives, the Generative AI Product Lead is a consultant-minded professional who will shape the future of Gen AI-powered products, obsess about customers, and is excited to see the successful implementation of AI products that are crucial to the transformation of our business. As a key member of the Global Marketing Strategy & Transformation team, the desired candidate will be responsible for helping improve the employee experience by defining and delivering innovative products and features that leverage generative AI technologies to improve our colleague experience.

You will act the voice of the end-user and Gen AI product ambassador, and you will work closely with a cross-functional team of data scientists, data engineers, designers, and technologists to drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap. You will also collaborate with internal business partners and external suppliers to ensure alignment and integration with our platform and ecosystem.

To be successful in the role, you are results oriented, will possess proven experience in driving a product strategy and roadmap for an AI-powered product, advocating for the end user while collaborating with technical and business collaborators to prioritize product backlogs and measure value, closely partnering with change and communications practitioners to support broader transformation efforts, and have the ability to craft reasons to motivate change as a team.

Responsibilities

Product Ownership

  • Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the assigned product area, ensuring alignment with the Manulife\xe2\x80\x99s Generative AI ambition and priorities
  • Act as an ambassador for the assigned products and as the primary contact for queries and requests
  • Lead the discovery, ideation, and validation of new product opportunities and features that use generative AI to enhance employee productivity and creativity at an enterprise level
  • Partner with the Employee Experience team to define and analyze metrics and user feedback to measure and improve the product performance and user satisfaction
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in generative AI and related domains, and find opportunities for innovation and differentiation
  • Ensures value creation for the business and end-users by being responsible for the product backlog and ensuring that the highest value work is always being performed
  • Work with the Advanced Analytics, Engineering, Technology and Design teams to create and deploy high-quality products and features that meet user needs and business goals
  • Communicates ongoing developments of the assigned product
End User Experience Alignment
  • Responsible for business outcomes in alignment with segment/global priorities for the assigned Gen AI products
  • Acts as the voice of the business and voice of the end user within the project teams to ensure business and end-user satisfaction
  • Partners closely with the Employee Experience team to maintain an understanding of business needs and user problems, needs, and preferences

Partner Engagement & Communications
  • Provides effective and regular communication within the project team, business and technical partners, and Executives
  • Develop and present product development updates, end user findings, and/or recommendations to an Executive audience
  • Engage with technology partners to coordinate plans and roadmaps that will support continued product innovation
What we are looking for
  • 5-8 years of confirmed experience in product management, preferably in delivering AI-powered products or consumer-facing products as part of an overall transformation program
  • Consistent track record of successfully delivering digital or AI-powered products to market, starting from concept stage to final delivery
  • Confirmed experience in the product development lifecycle and agile methodologies; PSPO certification is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to influence company level strategy and work with business leaders to complete transformation
  • Experience working within financial technology companies, insurance or banking is an asset
  • Ability to build alignment and listen well, and can also drive hard decisions, framing the different options and tradeoffs
  • Ability to consistently triangulate across changing end user needs, business needs and evolving AI/technology capabilities
  • Understanding of natural language processing, machine learning, and automation technologies is a plus
  • Comfortable challenging the status quo and questioning existing practices
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate sophisticated concepts and ideas to different audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and user feedback to inform decisions
  • Passionate about creating innovative and impactful products that demonstrate the power of generative AI

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location Toronto, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between $103,050.00 CAD - $185,490.00 CAD
