About the role

.

McCain Foods (Canada) Florenceville Potato Processing Plant is currently looking for

2 temporary General Packaging Labourers

to join our team. These are 6 month full-time temporary roles with the opportunity for extension and/or moving into a permanent full-time role if/when one becomes available. The role works 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday with occasional evening and weekend work as required. These roles will include assisting our Packaging Department with general duties.

What you'll be doing.

Responsible for following all safety requirements. Material handling of 25 kg boxes and bags. Responsible for following change over policy and requirements. Responsible for some sanitation duties. Trouble shoot, adjust and maintain equipment as required. Must follow "Good Manufacturing Practices" (GMP's) and Critical Control Points (CCP's). Ensure SQCDPE targets are met by understanding and goal setting of KPI's. Relay information to other Team members as an area Lead (Key Area Resource). Follow JHA's and work safely. Participate in STEP program (Behavioral safety observations). Dealing with production issues, working in a fast-paced team environment. Participate in Team meetings, as required. Responsible for the yearly completion of the Performance Excellence Program (PEP) training and evaluation. Complete core curriculum E-learning courses

What you'll need to be successful.

Grade 12 education or GED. Basic computer skills would be an asset. Ability to work well with plant supervision and production employees. Team player with excellent attendance. Must have good mathematical skills and complete production forms accurately and neatly. Demonstrate continuous initiatives and involvement. Highly motivated, observant with good initiative and a positive attitude. Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment adapting to and embracing change as it occurs. Potential for some weekend/night shift work as required. Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Must possess a good safety record and demonstrate "safety first'' on a continual basis.

Compensation Package

Starting at19.16 CAD hourly + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
