The Village of Aspen Lake, located in Windsor Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a GENERAL MANAGER to join their Village Team.

As our new General Manager, you will:
  • Have completed a post-secondary degree or diploma in a health or social services field
  • Three to five years experience or equivalent employment
  • Successful completion of a post graduate study in Retirement Home/Lon-Term Care Leadership
  • Solid Understanding of the related legislation
  • As a Serving Leader, demonstrate experience supporting a multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Proven Strength Based leadership and a deep understanding of senior living
  • Empower and Support our Leadership Team who support the village in providing exceptional resident-centered care, focusing on flexible living and quality of life and care
  • Outstanding relationship builder who fosters deep relationships and connections
  • Be a Champion in the culture change of aging within the Village by promoting an ongoing commitment to putting living first for residents
  • Develop operational plans with key initiatives to support furthering the aspiration statements of Schlegel Villages
  • Lead the profitability and sustainability of the Village through the annual budget process which requires analyzing financial needs, predicting future financial costs, utilizing resources and expenditures effectively and making the right investments in capital and resources to provide for a sustainable village
  • Foster authentic partnerships with community partners
  • You believe in building on the strengths of your team and demonstrate a desire for continuous learning
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
  • Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the General Manager role
It would be an asset if our new General Manager has:
  • Proven the ability to be adaptable and flexible and accommodate a diverse set of individual needs
  • Knowledge of HR policies, procedures and Collective Agreements in order to lead Village hiring, performance, growth and development, discipline, safety, compensation and recognition
  • Knowledge and experience as a leader in Retirement Living, Program Standard Manual requirements, and the Resident Bill of Rights
  • Knowledge and experience in operational fiscal management
