Standard Bus Contracting has an exciting opportunity for a General Manager based in Whitehorse. This role is responsible for overseeing operations throughout the territory as well as future growth opportunities in the region.

Knowledge & Skills Required

Post-secondary education with emphasis on Management Transportation operations and management experience with bench strength in decision making High level of emotional intelligence to deal with all levels of personnel and clientele Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally while exhibiting confidentiality and diplomacy Expertise in organizational planning and problem-solving Knowledge of provincial and federal laws & regulations pertaining to industry requirements Knowledge of WCB and Occupational Health & Safety regulations Knowledge of budgeting and financial statements Computer proficiency in Office suite

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Negotiate contracts and assist with the preparation of tender documents Delegate responsibilities to the Management team Establish policies and procedures Develop and lead employee engagement initiatives Represent the company at client meetings, and with the media Investigate and initiate change to improve Operations systems and procedures Network and volunteer in the community and industry to acquire business contacts and establish relationships Business growth in the area
