Job Description

Position: General Manager - Trades
Location: West Ottawa, on site
Salary: $125, 000 to $175,000 based on experience
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday - day shift
Benefits: 2-3 weeks vacation, vehicle allowance, contributions toward RRSP and benefits, travel reimbursements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor\'s degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience
- Accounting experience
- Experience in negotiations
- Experience working with contractors (plumbing, HVAC, sheet metal, etc.)
- Strong computer skills
- Experience with unions and unionized environments
- Supervisory experience
- Valid driver\'s license and access to a vehicle
- Valid passport and ability to travel internationally
Assets:
- Bilingual (English and French)
- Commissioner of Oath Certification an asset
- Experience personally working in the Trades (plumbing, HVAC, sheet metal, etc.)
:
- Organize all board and subcommittee meetings including minutes
- Plan and organize various social events and act as host
- Consistent use of Microsoft Office suite and Simply Accounting
- Prepare financial statements to trial balance and all financial aspects of office environment
- Co-ordinate internal staff
- Travel within Canada and Internationally to attend required meetings, trade-related fairs and other relevant shows and events
- Attend trade-related fairs and other relevant shows
- Monitor financial performance and make data-driven decisions
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and success
