About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven
General Manager - Residential Exteriors
to launch and grow our new residential siding and building envelope division. This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll shape the division from the ground up, from defining processes to building your team, winning work, and delivering successful projects. You will work closely with Alberta's leading homebuilders and developers while having the autonomy to execute your vision.
Key Responsibilities
As General Manager, you will be responsible for:
Leading the development of our
new residential construction division
focused on siding and exterior envelope systems.
Building and managing relationships with
home builders, developers, and related stakeholders
across Alberta.
Developing and executing
sales strategies
to drive market penetration in single- and multi-family projects.
Managing the full project lifecycle from
estimating, quoting, and procurement
to installation and turnover.
Hiring, managing, and mentoring a team of
site supervisors, coordinators, and subcontractors
.
Creating scalable operational systems and
standard operating procedures
.
Ensuring safety compliance and
quality control
across all active job sites.
Overseeing
material procurement and logistics
, including managing supplier relationships.
Implementing project tracking, scheduling, and reporting tools.
Delivering
excellent customer service
, resolving issues quickly and professionally.
Driving continuous improvement and
margin optimization
through cost tracking and productivity analysis.
Collaborating with the executive team on
long-term strategy, budgeting, and hiring plans
.
Representing the company at industry events, trade shows, and builder association meetings.
Working with internal marketing and branding teams to establish division identity and presence.
What We are Looking For
We are looking for a self-starter who knows the exterior trades inside and out, and is ready to take ownership of a business unit with growth in mind.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
Minimum
5-10 years' experience in the exterior construction industry
, with significant focus on residential new builds (siding, soffit, fascia, cladding, etc.).
Proven leadership experience managing teams and
growing a book of business
.
Strong understanding of
builder relationships
, project timelines, scopes, and quality expectations.
Skilled in
estimating, quoting, budgeting
, and job costing.
Comfortable with
building envelope code compliance and best practices
.
Experience hiring, developing, and managing subcontractors and trades.
Strong organizational and
project management skills
.
Proficient with construction management software and digital tools.
Entrepreneurial mindset ability to work independently, set goals, and drive outcomes.
A network of builder or developer contacts is a strong asset.
