As a leader, the Shake Shack General Manager takes an entrepreneurial approach to driving successful results by overseeing team development and sales growth strategies while striving to maximize bottom-line profitability. The GM upholds our standards while ensuring elevated experiences for our team members and our guests. The ultimate brand champion, the GM is responsible for inspiring and motivating a team by fostering an inclusive culture, welcoming environment and efficient workplace through clear communication and strategic action planning.

Manages a team to drive top-line sales and bottom-line profitability through ownership of Shack P&L, including cost control, operational excellence and ongoing education of the management team on business acumen, P&L review and how to impact in real time. Drives people planning - recruitment, development and retention - of a high-performing, diverse team, at all levels, while staffing for growth. Demonstrates strong leadership skills and strategic agility to meet and anticipate fluctuating business needs. Leads team through change, complexity and difficult situations while promoting a solution-oriented culture which contributes to the development of the brand and our processes. Delivers an amazing guest and team experience that ensures loyalty through solid operations execution while identifying opportunities to improve throughput and productivity. Follows all company policies and compliance rules, appropriate health codes and local jurisdiction food handling requirements, maintains food safety certifications and models exemplary food health safety practices to the team. Leads by example, holds self and team accountable, and coaches the management team in shift management to maximize results and ensure strong execution. Fosters an environment of inclusivity to engage the team, inspire collaboration and retain top talent.
