Water Babies Toronto is a company owned outlet with 7 pools and over 700 swimmers with us weekly. We are looking for a special individual to take strategic charge of it, to grow and develop it such that it continues to be Canada's model Water Babies franchise outlet.
Overview of the position:
Our General Manager (GM) will need to have or develop the skill set to run a business, develop and motivate people, and passionately teach 0-5 baby and toddler swimming. We are looking for someone who has worked in aquatics previously with management experience, although it is possible to be a successful applicant without having that background. What you absolutely do need to a passion for learning about and understanding aquatics, children and franchising.
What we are looking for is that passion coupled with attitude, work ethic, willingness to learn, ability to adapt and to be flexible . We will also give you, of course, all of our business and systems training.
The GM will take full responsibility for the day to day operational management and direction of Water Babies Toronto operations. This is a hands on role from the start, and will include front line service both in the pool and in the office.
The GM will need to wear many hats, from business management, across areas such as marketing, HR, finance and office administration to delivering our aquatics program. Our GM will interact with and grow our client base, as well as recruit and retain admin and aquatics staff. This position will allow you to grow personally by both teaching our adorable clients, and eventually coaching our teachers on how to provide the best experience for our swimmers.
Responsibilities:
Lead customer service activities, such as calls and emails with clients, this will include being hands on taking and making calls.
Driving growth through a systematic approach to goal setting, marketing, conversion of enquiries and booking swimmers into our courses.
To take part in booking calls with clients
To coordinate and maintain the client administration systems, standards and operational procedures
To take part in the delivery of aquatics services
To manage and lead the sales and administrative team of 2-3 staff, their targets and performance
To direct all day to day operational interaction with teachers
To manage and enhance relationships with pools and to monitor and act on pool operational issues
To actively seek out new pools and highlight areas where new pools are required
To ensure all health and safety policies are clearly documented, actioned and reported on where necessary
To manage, record and report on complaints & customer feedback received and to deal with escalations
To be responsible for the performance and reporting on pool margins, utilisation, customer retention, client numbers as part of the monthly business planning and review processes to meet the business KPI's
To direct, manage and take part in the delivery of our photography services
To direct, manage and take part in the sale of products (we sell related swimming products, warming garments and toys)
To liaise with Canada Master Franchise on franchise financial performance and bookkeeping matters
Any other duties as may be deemed appropriate

Compensation for this role will consist of a competitive base salary and a significant performance incentive structure which is based on a tiered percentage of annual profit. There will be an extended training period as you learn the role before this these incentives kick in.
