What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the General Manager will have operational responsibility for the Co-op, including the leadership and development of team members. Using effective interpersonal competencies and a strategic mindset, the successful candidate will demonstrate business insight and excellent analytical skills that align with and strengthen Pinehouse Co-op\xe2\x80\x99s direction, goals, and operational plans. The individual will seek out opportunities for self development and demonstrate resiliency by using past successes and failures when tackling new challenges. The primary responsibilities of this role are, but not limited to, the following:

• Strategy \xe2\x80\x93 Working closely with the Board to interpret our vision and managing the Co-operative\xe2\x80\x99s strategy by directing all aspects of the business.
• Financial Stewardship \xe2\x80\x93 Leading the development of the Co-op\xe2\x80\x99s operating and capital budgets and ensuring efficient operation and adherence to the budget.
• Operations - Responsible for overall administration, co-ordination, and control of the retail, and ensuring daily success with a hands-on approach. Understands the importance of optimizing processes to drive results.
• Leadership \xe2\x80\x93 Provide leadership and maintain a positive work environment that promotes the engagement and development of team members to support the achievement of desired results.
• Relationships \xe2\x80\x93 Using excellent communication skills, builds and enhances relationships with members, customers, team members. Acts as a liaison between the community and the retail.

Who you are:

• 5+ years relevant management experience with 3-5 years leading people within the Retail industry. Previous Co-op experience is considered an asset. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Management experience within the hospitality/restaurant industry considered asset.
• Strong business and organizational savvy, and an ability to plan and align resources.
• Demonstrated ability to ensure accountability, manage conflict and balance stakeholders.
• Self motivated, quick learner and requires minimal supervision; flexible and adapts to change.
• Demonstrated ability in developing creative and innovative marketing strategies that identify and promote opportunities for retail growth.
• A reputation for being honest and trustworthy, results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
• A belief in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most.
