Job Description


General Manager, Blomidon Golf Course The General Manager shall be responsible for the operations, maintenance and enhancement of the Blomidon Golf and County Club including the direction and supervision of all staff and is responsible for and accountable to the Board for all operations. Notwithstanding the generality of the foregoing, the General Manager shall be responsible for and accountable to the Board for the following:

  • employment and supervision of all staff;
  • initiation and maintenance of proper employee records maintenance records, work assignments;
  • the operation, maintenance and up-keep of all property of the Club including without limitation the club house, golf course, golf course equipment, pro shop, and maintenance sheds;
  • the establishment, initiation, operation and maintenance of procedures for the up-keep and maintenance of the golf course at Canadian professional standards;
  • the promotion, marketing and advertising of all club operations;
  • the fostering of a positive public image for the Blomidon Golf and County Club;
  • the purchasing, in a commercially prudent manner, of all supplies;
  • liaison with the Board of Directors and all Board Committees;
  • supervision of all staff including without limitation golf course staff, club house staff including kitchen, and pro shop staff;
  • operating and maintaining the Blomidon Golf Club in accordance with standards set by the Board and operating within the constraints of budgets set by the Board of Directors;
  • assist with the preparation and implementation of all budgets as allocated by the Board of Directors;
  • the General Manager shall report to the Board through the President or the Executive Committee as determined by the Board of Directors;
  • the General Manager shall be responsible for initiating good communications between the general membership of the Club and the Board of Directors;
  • the General Manager shall be a non-voting member of the Golf and House Committees and such other Committees as determined by the Board of Directors;
  • the General Manager shall ensure that all employees treat club members and guests of the Club in a friendly and professional manner and the General Manager shall foster a positive image for the Blomidon Golf and Country Club with the general public;
  • the General Manager shall ensure that club staff comply with all accounting procedures instituted by the Club\'s accountants and auditors.
  • the General Manager will be responsible for the supervision and depositing in the Club\'s bank account, all funds received by the Club;
  • the General Manager shall also supervise and be accountable for any Canadian Professional Golf Association member retained by the Club for the purposes of being the Club\'s golf professional;
  • the General Manager will also supervise any lease arrangement entered into by the Club with an entity which will sell an inventory of golf equipment and supplies in the Club\'s Pro Shop and ensure that all monies from sales are collected and are remitted to such entity and also ensure that the Club performs its responsibilities under any such lease arrangement.

  • Have experience working at a golf course, particularly in a Managerial position.
  • Have excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Education:
  • Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
  • Hospitality: 1 year (preferred)
