This is a hands-on, leadership role for an entrepreneurial manager who thrives on both strategy and execution. You will be the operational and commercial driver of our established business, with direct responsibility for sales, financial health, supply chain efficiency, and market expansion. You will oversee a small, dedicated team and have the autonomy to shape the company's future while respecting its strong legacy.

Key Responsibilities



1. Sales & Business Development (40%)



Develop and execute the annual sales strategy to expand our customer base across Canada. Personally manage key accounts and pursue new business opportunities. Travel regularly (approx. 25-30%) to visit existing and potential customers, building strong relationships within the construction industry. Represent the company at trade shows and industry events.

2. Financial Management & Planning (30%)



Own the P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Manage cash flow, credit, and inventory financing. Analyze financial data to identify trends, optimize pricing, and improve profitability. Implement cost-control measures without compromising service or quality.

3. Supply Chain & Operations Management (20%)



Oversee end-to-end supply chain, including demand planning, inventory control, and logistics. Manage relationships with key suppliers and negotiate favorable terms. Ensure efficient warehouse and office operations alongside the team. Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing carrying costs.

4. Leadership & Growth (10%)



Directly oversee, mentor, and motivate a team of 2-4 employees in administrative, warehouse, and sales support roles. Foster a culture of accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement. Develop and implement strategic plans for organic growth and potential new market segments.

Qualifications & Requirements



Must-Have:



Minimum of 5 years of experience in a management role within the construction, plumbing, HVAC, or industrial distribution sectors. Proven track record in sales leadership and business development, with a strong network in the industry. Demonstrated expertise in financial management, including P&L responsibility, budgeting, and financial analysis. Solid experience in demand planning, inventory management, and supply chain logistics. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust with contractors, suppliers, and team members. Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working autonomously. Willingness to travel across Canada and work a flexible schedule when required. Valid driver's license.

Nice-to-Have:



Experience with wholesale/distribution business models. Familiarity with plumbing products and specifications. Familiarity with Netsuite or similar inventory, financial management, and customer relationship software Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Bilingualism (English/French).

Work Structure



Schedule: Approximately 40 hours per week, with flexibility required for customer visits and travel. Location: Hybrid role. Time is split between the office/warehouse north of Toronto, on the road visiting customers, and potential for limited remote administrative work.

Pay: $90,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
