Reporting directly to the VP, Operations, the IL Fornello Sherwood Village General Manager is an integral contributor to the overall success of the restaurant. The ideal candidate must be customer service and business oriented, with a proven ability to deliver a great experience for all of our guests, while effectively managing costs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Attract, build and maintain strong relationships with guests, staff and the community.
Effectively administer company policies, service standards and procedures
Supervise the floor during service, respond to all guest concerns
Continuously inspire excellent customer service in our staff and lead this goal by example 100 percent of the time
Liaise with the Chef to address any operational and service issues between FOH and BOH staff, ensuring a close-knit team
Hire and Develop FOH staff by ensuring regular one-on-ones, training and development, coaching and performance evaluation
Prepare weekly FOH staff schedules to ensure monthly labor cost targets achieved.
Order, maintain and inventory all bar and dining room beverages and supplies
Prepare a weekly and monthly management report for ownership showing all revenue streams and costs to achieve those sales.
Check and transmit payroll data to payroll processor
Reconcile daily cashouts and distribute gratuities and tip pools
Focus on building year-over-year sales growth by supporting all local and company-wide marketing plans and initiatives
Ensure compliance with all regulations with respect to AGCO, Department of Public Health and Health and Safety committee
Must be able to assist with dining room service 5 nights a week including weekends.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary Degree/Diploma in Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage Management and/or equivalent
A minimum of 5 years progressive experience within the hospitality industry, with a minimum of 2 years experience in a management position
knowledgeable and passionate about food, wine, beer and spirits
Exceptional organizational skills with ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and change priorities, as needed, in a fast paced environment
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays, as required
Compensation:
$80,000 to $100,000 per year based on experience
Enrollment dental and group benefits plan coverage after 3 months
3 weeks paid vacation per year
