Description :Heritage Co-op is recruiting for the position of General Manager (GM) at our head office is based in Minnedosa, Manitoba.Who We Are:Heritage Co-op is a local retail co-operative with over 270M in annual sales and 500+ employees that has proudly served communities in Western Manitoba for 90 years. Today, Heritage Co-op serves more than 26,500 members in Brandon, Minnedosa, Wawanesa, Erickson, Sandy Lake, Strathclair and Rivers in the areas of Food, Fuel, Home & Building Supplies, and Agricultural Supplies & Services. Over the past 10 years Heritage Co-op has given back over $30 million in cash back equity to our members and continues to invest in and support various community efforts.What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Do:Reporting to the Board of Directors, the GM leads Heritage Co-op towards achievement of a board-approved vision by developing and implementing a business strategy and business processes that fully leverages the organization\xe2\x80\x99s capabilities by creating conditions in which team members can contribute to the full extent of their potential.

  • Lead the development and implementation of a board-approved strategic direction and strategy for Heritage Co-op. Oversee appropriate integration across all operations and business lines, evaluating opportunities for diversification, and ensuring alignment to the vision, mission, and values of the organization.
  • Lead a high-performing, adaptive team through transformational change initiatives, by communicating the mission, vision, values, and strategic direction of the organization with the goal of inspiring a diverse workforce to achieve Heritage Co-op\'s strategic business plans.
  • Ensure the financial integrity and wellbeing of the organization by taking overall responsibility for financial governance, risk management and the health of the Co-operative.
  • Experience in diversification strategies, potential expansion of services and other long-term capital projects and change management.
  • Oversee the safe, sustainable, and efficient operations of the organization and lead the innovation of business processes and services.
  • Drive targeted growth of sales and performance to improve profitability and overall customer experience.
  • Work closely with the CRS in maintaining a mutually beneficial relationship.
Community:The town of Minnedosa edges Little Saskatchewan River, which generated hydro power until 1933. The dam also created Minnedosa Lake, which has been and still is, one of the recreational highlights in the area. You have been successful in executing a growth strategy within a large multi-location organization.
  • You have 10+ years of senior leadership experience focused on large teams.
  • Understand and align with the values of Heritage Co-op. You have general knowledge and support the principle of co-operatives.
  • You have experience working with and reporting to a Board of Directors.
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong understanding of the financial aspects of the business including risk management, change leadership and business strategy.
  • Able to model servant leadership with the senior leadership team for the good of the organization.
  • You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
  • You have a degree in Business (a combination of education and/or experience may be considered).
