On behalf of our client, TalentWorld is recruiting a General Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, financial acumen, and a proven ability to drive performance across multiple departments.
General Manager Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to teams across accounting, property management, and operations to ensure organizational goals are achieved
  • Manage a portfolio of residential and commercial properties while maintaining exceptional tenant relationships
  • Develop standards and procedures to assess operational efficiency and identify value creation opportunities
  • Set performance objectives for teams and properties; motivate staff to achieve goals
  • Oversee leasing, renewals, and tenant engagement initiatives
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and service offerings to enhance operations
  • Monitor financial performance, budgets, and profitability targets
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements across all assets
  • Drive community engagement initiatives that align with company values
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement
General Manager Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in residential and commercial property management
  • At least 3 years of management experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, CAM reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Familiarity with building systems, lease negotiation, documentation, and administration
  • Proficiency with property management software such as Yardi, Kardin, or MRI
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or finance required; advanced degree or professional designation is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Background in property management, real estate, or hospitality is ideal
  • Collaborative, decisive, and motivated by creating high-performing teams
  • Ability to work full time on-site in Halifax
