About the Role
We are seeking a driven, hands-on General Manager to lead all aspects of studio operations. This role is ideal for a confident leader with strong hospitality and business instincts who is passionate about golf, customer experience, and team development.
This position offers a significant opportunity for growth, including the ability to expand into a teaching professional role as the business grows. Preference will be given to PGA of Canada Teaching Professionals, or candidates actively pursuing their PGA designation, who are interested in combining instruction with leadership and business management.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Leadership
Oversee day-to-day studio operations, including staffing, scheduling, leagues, events, simulator bookings, and food and beverage service.
Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and exceptional service.
Develop and manage staff schedules to balance guest demand, operational efficiency, and labor costs.
Ensure simulator technology, equipment, and facilities are well maintained and operating at a high standard.
Uphold cleanliness, safety, and operational standards in compliance with Alberta regulations and company expectations.
Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control for food, beverage, and operational supplies.
Implement performance management practices, including coaching, feedback, and staff development.
Simulator Management
Maximize simulator availability and booking during high-demand periods.
Coordinate lesson scheduling, junior programs, and instructional offerings in alignment with business needs.
Continuously evaluate simulator usage and adjust programming to optimize bay utilization and revenue.
Guest Experience & Community Engagement
Set and model exceptional guest service standards across all areas of the studio.
Build strong relationships with guests, members, instructors, and local golf organizations.
Resolve guest concerns professionally and proactively to maintain a positive brand reputation.
Marketing & Business Growth
Support marketing initiatives that drive bookings, memberships, leagues, and instructional programs.
Grow participation in leagues, events, and lessons through programming and community engagement.
Encourage and manage customer feedback, reviews, and testimonials.
Financial & Business Performance
Monitor budgets, sales performance, and key operational metrics.
Drive revenue growth across simulator bookings, instruction, leagues, food and beverage, and merchandise.
Report regularly on business performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Qualifications
PGA of Canada Teaching Professional preferred; candidates working toward PGA designation will be strongly considered.
Proven leadership experience in golf, hospitality, recreation, or customer-focused environments.
Strong operational, organizational, and financial management skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Comfortable working with golf simulator technology, POS systems, and scheduling tools.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to adapt, problem-solve, and grow with the business.
ProServe, Food Safety, and First Aid/CPR certifications (or willingness to obtain).
Strong understanding of workplace safety and commitment to maintaining a safe, professional environment.
