The Opportunity


We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our organization and accelerate growth across the utility, resource development, commercial and industrial (C&I), and broader infrastructure sectors. Our work spans electric and gas utilities, mining, renewable energy, and emerging markets within the infrastructure ecosystem.


This role offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned leader with a proven track record in building and scaling infrastructure-focused businesses who is ready to step into a broader, high-impact leadership position. The position will support the identification, evaluation, and acquisition of additional businesses in support of the organization's broader growth strategy.


The General Manager will oversee a growing portfolio of diverse service offerings, ensuring exceptional safety performance, operational excellence, and disciplined strategic growth. This role is accountable for delivering financial results, driving profitability, strengthening brand presence, and maximizing long-term shareholder value. The position will support the identification, evaluation, and acquisition of additional businesses in support of the organization's broader growth strategy.


Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic and operational leadership to a high-performing team delivering utility and infrastructure projects across Western Canada. Model a strong safety culture, ensuring safety remains the organization's highest priority. Oversee end-to-end service delivery, ensuring quality, timeliness, operational efficiency, and project profitability. Own full P&L performance, achieving financial targets through effective planning, leadership, operational oversight, financial discipline, and proactive risk management. Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders to enhance reputation and support long-term growth. Lead business development and market expansion, identifying opportunities in new and existing markets, overseeing proposal development, and driving a robust project pipeline.

o Engage clients regularly to understand evolving needs, recommend additional services, and position the company as a trusted partner.

Develop and execute strategic plans, including service expansion and operational initiatives that drive sustainable growth. Represent the organization publicly, strengthening EMB's brand visibility within the community and across industry networks. Implement and continuously improve systems, processes, and performance metrics that support operational excellence, client satisfaction, and scalable growth. Foster a high-performance culture anchored in accountability, continuous improvement, and strong employee engagement. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, ensuring resources align with operational priorities and growth objectives. Prepare and present business updates, providing clear insights into performance, risks, and strategic direction. Recruit, mentor, and develop talent, building leadership capacity and deepening technical and operational expertise across the organization. Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies, integrating innovative practices that strengthen competitiveness and enhance value.

Experience leading full P&L accountability, managing multidisciplinary teams, and overseeing complex, multi-stakeholder projects. Exceptional communication skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels of the organization. A strategic, forward-thinking mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity, lead transformation, and develop new business opportunities. A passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing emerging leaders to build high-performing, future-ready teams. Our expected starting annual salary for this role is expected to be $170,000 - $200,000
