McCain Fertilizer/Produce is currently seeking a seasonal General Laborer based out of our Grand Falls Fry Plant Location. Reporting directly to the Operations Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the operation functions, while always ensuring a safe work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to work with minimum supervision in a team environment

• Ability to work with an eye to efficiency, safety and speed.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Class 5 is an asset.
• Ability to receive intensive training and carry out work as instructed
• Self-starting, capable of seeking out tasks during downtime

Ability to work physically
Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

• Foster a safe work environment and promote continuous improvement initiatives with regards to workplace safety
• Able to work safely lifting Potato samples bucket / washing and bringing to the graders.

• Able to work extended hours

• Capable of asserting safe work environment and safety requirements as necessary
• Capable of following safety training
• Capable of working in dusty environments
• Capable of learning Cleaning techniques under the directions of the Site supervisor

Assertive safety in this role is a requirement--applicants with Safety backgrounds or demonstrated Safety training and experience will be prioritized. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can manage their time effectively to maximize task completion throughout the workday with a minimum of guidance following orientation and training. This person will have an interest in always being busy and identifying opportunities and improving efficiencies throughout the day.
