Quality of Care NL/NL SUPPORT
Research Initiatives and Services
(Contractual Position to April 30, 2026; Possibility of Extension)

DUTIES
Reporting to the Director of Quality of Care NL/NL SUPPORT, the Communications Advisor will be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team involved in multifaceted, deadline-oriented research. The successful candidate will provide communications, digital marketing, and development expertise to support the goals of the Quality of Care NL/Choosing Wisely NL and NL SUPPORT research programs, in addition to supporting the communication needs of the Centre for Analytics, Informatics and Research (CAIR).
Specific duties include:

• Working with a team of data analysts, research associates, health policy analysts, entrepreneurs, innovators, and external providers such as Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services (NLHS) and the provincial government to lead the development of digital marketing and communications strategies;
• Supervising the role of a Communications Coordinator (Knowledge Translation), including assignment of tasks, managing workflow, and providing guidance and support;
• Leading the development and execution of social media, marketing, and communications plans for three brands including NL SUPPORT, Quality of Care NL, and CAIR;
• Managing the logistics, event plans, stakeholder lists, and media for events including the annual SHARE Summit, project or funding announcements, and public engagement (i.e., town halls);
• Developing content for and maintaining multiple websites and social media accounts (including Facebook, X, YouTube, LinkedIn for NL SUPPORT, Quality of Care, and CAIR), ensuring consistent brand messaging across all outputs;
• Producing a monthly webinar series, including determining topics, booking guests speakers, promotion, and logistics;
• Managing the design and compilation of the annual Practice Points publication (published online quarterly and formatted into a final product at the end of the year);
• Participating in a national Community of Practice with counterparts at other Strategy for Patient Oriented Research-funded entities across Canada;
• Working with other communication leads across Memorial;
• Ensuring a seamless relationship between knowledge translation products and communication campaigns;
• Meeting deadlines for digital campaigns;
• Prioritizing deliverables;
• Performing other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Significant experience (3-5 years) in progressively responsible leadership positions in digital marketing and communications; graduation from university with major course work in business, marketing, social science is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. The ideal candidate will have advanced skills in developing and executing digital marketing and communications strategies; interpreting research data, information and situations, and negotiation and problem solving. Demonstrated strength in planning, organization, interpersonal communication, relationship building, and experience working effectively both independently and as part of a team, as well as with the public and commercial organizations, are essential; as are management skills, an understanding of patient-oriented research, and knowledge translation methodologies. Experience in HTML programming for website development is considered an asset.
SALARY $59,855 - $83,793 per annum (Management and Professional)
