Position Description
We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Lethbridge landfill location for a seasonal General labor working in the waste industry.
This role is seaonal and will be from April 1st to October 31st
Position Responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact for all staff, managers, clients, and customers.
Onsite and offsite litter retrieval
Public Drop off operations
Sort household hazardous waste and electronic waste
Act as a site attendant
Assist with baler operations
Snow shoveling
Help with minor maintenance tasks
General housekeeping
Assist with operating leachate and surface water pumping systems
Assist with environmental and compliance monitoring
Ensure the safety of co-workers and the public at all times
Spotting and traffic control
Other duties and projects may be assigned.
Qualifications
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Possession of a valid class 5 Operator's license
Flexibility and willingness to work simultaneously on a wide range of tasks and projects.
Physical strength and dexterity
Ability to work in varying weather conditions
Excellent customer service.
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
Operational experience would be an asset
1st Aid, WHMIS, Defensive Driving and Alberta Temporary Traffic Control certification will be an asset
Perform data entry duties in the Company's system
Comply with administration and reporting requirements.
Proven ability to work independently while being a team player.
