Our client a leading multi-disciplinary engineering firm offering services in the fields of Pipeline & Facility Engineering, Geotechnical, Construction Management, Environmental, and Pipeline Integrity. They have been established for 20 years and are experts in Trenchless Technology and Open-Cut pipeline construction methods. They are looking for an Intermediate Project Manager. This position is responsible for managing project teams to the successful completion of all project deliverables, related documents, and coordination of project requirements. You will assist with designs, conduct calculations, draft documents, and complete cost estimates in accordance with the industry and the company\'s codes and standards. Projects may range from small-scale integrity upgrades to trenchless installations, to full-scope pipeline and facility designs and construction management support. This is an intermediate-level position, and the incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Pipeline & Facilities Manager and/or Trenchless Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities:
\xc2\xb7 Ensuring the successful execution of engineering projects.
\xc2\xb7 Meeting project deadlines and quality requirements.
\xc2\xb7 Maintain effective working relationships with clients, contractors, staff, and other employees.
\xc2\xb7 Assist with the completion of various project deliverables (DBM\'s, cost estimates, project schedules, engineered drawings, specifications and
datasheets, evaluation of construction feasibility, route evaluation and selection, process design, pipeline systems optimization)
\xc2\xb7 Quality control and checking.
\xc2\xb7 Technical coordination with various disciplines, both internal and external.
\xc2\xb7 Maintain and grow a working knowledge of the applicable design codes and standards including CSA Z662, ASME B31.3/4/8, and PRCI PR-277-144507.
\xc2\xb7 Assist with business development proposals and studies as required, including occasional presentations or attendance at industry conferences.
\xc2\xb7 Occasional travel to the site for, information gathering, as-building, pipeline route walk-downs, commissioning activities, or troubleshooting tasks
\xc2\xb7 Assist in developing and standardizing templates and commonly issued project documents/calculations to improve the overall efficiency of the company\'s operations.
\xc2\xb7 Coordinate department resources as needed. Including 3rd Party Subcontractors and Vendors where applicable.
\xc2\xb7 Maintain consistent involvement with Engineering Managers to ensure overall coverage of department operations is enacted.
Qualifications:
\xc2\xb7 Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Geotechnical preferred)
\xc2\xb7 Registered as Professional Engineer with APEGA & BCEG (additional PE licensing considered an asset)
\xc2\xb7 5+ years\' experience in a related field; construction and/or field experience is considered an asset
\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of piping codes (CSA, ASME, PRCI, API)
\xc2\xb7 Knowledge in the design of pipeline and facility systems
\xc2\xb7 Experience in managing small to mid-size projects
\xc2\xb7 Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills
\xc2\xb7 An excellent communicator and team player, able to work within a multi-disciplinary team environment with a positive attitude
\xc2\xb7 Detail-oriented, meticulous, and have strong organizational skills
\xc2\xb7 Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities
\xc2\xb7 Quality and Safety oriented mindset
Additional qualifications:
\xc2\xb7 AutoCAD, Excel, and PipeFlo software knowledge.
\xc2\xb7 Technical writing skills.
\xc2\xb7 Preference will be given to candidates with experience in trenchless design.
\xc2\xb7 Professional licensure with other provincial associations (EGBC, PEO, etc.) is a benefit.
\xc2\xb7 Safety training courses required to work in the field in Alberta and BC are a benefit. On-the-job training will be provided as needed.
