Location: Richmond, Canada
Reports to: Chief Technology Officer

The Project Engineer is the bridge between the product and the project. By working hand to hand with the Product Lead and the Project Managers, he/she oversees the engineering tasks of every project and make sure that the lessons learned along the way are fed back into the product for continuous improvement. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: As an Endless Surf Project Engineer, he/she will:

  • Attend project meetings and bring his/her product technical expertise to make sure all the technical questions are answered.
  • Work with the Project Manager to allocate resources and come up with realistic timelines for the different project engineering tasks.
  • Analyze custom needs and requirement of the project and perform the associated tasks (CFD simulations, various study such as power consumption, noise, etc.).
  • Liaise with external engineering consultants and drafting contractors if required.
  • Review and approve drawings while making sure it corresponds to the current state of the product development.
  • Oversee technical deliverables such as CAD drawings, simulation and studies results, technical documentation.
  • Perform risk assessments for every project to identify specific projects risks and develop mitigation plans to address them.
  • Be aware of the specific standards the project may need to be compliant to, or working towards to (company goals)
  • Gather results and lessons learned of commissionings and work on an improvement plan (modification, new features) with the Product Manager to perfect the existing product. (Use Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Opportunities for Improvement (OFI).
  • Use, maintain and develop Endless Surf Engineering tools (Spreadsheet, Code and Scripts).
  • Propose and develop new features to improve existing product.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, a specialty in fluid dynamics will be greatly appreciated.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar position with exposure to multi-discipline engineering and project management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in different coding languages (Python, Matlab) to use and develop Endless Surf Engineering tools.
  • A passion and interest in surf or related water sports highlights a passion for our product.
  • Proficiency in CFD tools and software, such as OpenFoam.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Strong preference for candidates who share our passionate for water sports, board sports, adventure and the great outdoors.
  • Must be able to travel globally without restrictions.
