We are currently seeking a Gate Service Technician, responsible for the performance of scheduled and emergency maintenance of our products. GateWorks will train the right career minded individual but the successful candidate must have the following attributes:

Excellent customer first service skills and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong customer relations. High level of mechanical aptitude capable of performing detailed work and problem solving. Proven field service experience and/or willingness to learn. English literacy both written and verbal, basic computer skills (MS word & excel). Working knowledge of the use of simple hand tools, power tools and complicated specialty tools (training will be provided for specialty tools). Integration of access devices with PC / server based software Safety compliant with a valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract. You will be required to successfully pass the Calgary Police Services Contractor Background Check. Ability to work independently or in a team environment. Be willing to work out of town on occasion.

The following would be considered an asset and would be prioritized for hiring:



Prior training in WSIB, WHIMS and other safety programs. Overhead door/ gate experience Mig welding Access controls experience Aerial platform certificate Enrolled in CDI (Canadian door institute) Fall arrest certificate Able to work on extension ladders
Key Responsibilities:

Service calls and performing routine and preventative maintenance; after-sales service; or installations as required. Test, review, diagnose, and troubleshoot installed systems using product manuals, manufacturer's help desk and technical support, and company resources. Inspecting equipment and related components to ensure safe operation. Make recommendations to customers on the purchase of services or spare parts. Preparing and providing timely field reports as required by customers or management using FastField reports. Ensuring efficient allocation of time making use of phone/GPS service to ensure travel between service calls is managed effectively. Maintaining current vehicle inventory, cleanliness and maintenance of Company service vehicles. Travel to remote areas as required from time to time. Participate in on-call rotation. Ability to complete manual tasks such as: bending, reaching, standing, lifting or carrying up to 75 lb. Comply with all company policies and procedures. Motivated to learn, grow, show initiative and take on increasing responsibility. Maintain a professional appearance at all times when working with customers and colleagues. Participate in training opportunities as requested by management. Flexible and adaptable. Demonstrate the capability to be able to multi-task and accommodate a variety of assignments at various locations on a day-to-day basis.
