Tollestrup Construction is seeking a self-motivated, reliable Polyethylene Fuser to join our new Utility Department in Lethbridge, Alberta. Required Qualifications:
A valid ATCO Certified Fusing Ticket is an asset
Knowledge and understanding of applicable codes and regulations
Previous electrical utilities or gas experience is an asset
Heavy Equipment Operating experience is an asset
Experience working in close proximity to active Heavy Machinery is an asset
Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license, Class 3 or 1 license is an asset
Clean driving abstract, Ground Disturbance Level 2, additional Safety Tickets and certification including First Aid and Fall Protection are assets
Must be able to lift 50 lbs comfortably. Must be able to walk and stand for long periods in addition to performing physical and labour tasks

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
The construction, fusion, installation and maintenance of gas lines
All aspects of PE Fusion, pressure testing, cutting, and live tie ins \xe2\x80\xa2 Working on live gas lines \xe2\x80\xa2 Fusion of pipes ranging from \xc2\xbd\xe2\x80\x9d to 6\xe2\x80\x9d in size, previous experience fusing ATCO gas lines is considered an asset
Installation of a variety of pipe material including steel and polyethylene, as well as installing unions, clamps, tees, sleeves and crosses
Joining pipes with a variety of methods including mechanical, socket, butt and electrofuse \xe2\x80\xa2 Operating Mueller equipment for stopping gas is considered an asset
Following client, industry and safety specifications and procedures
Read and interpret gas and electrical drawings and prints; reading power prints is considered an asset
Maintain positive, professional relationships with inspectors and clients
Assisting in digging ditches or trenches, excavating, sanding, backfilling excavations, and compacting/leveling earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes
Placing conduit & different types of cables
Perform various shallow utility installations in addition to gas lines
Site, equipment and tool maintenance
Material hauling, organizing and site cleanup.
Participate in and contribute to daily job site hazard assessments and weekly safety meetings.
Other duties and labour tasks as requested
