What You'll Do:


This is a key role in providing customer service for funerals and related activities. Success in this position involves a strong belief in customer service, high attention to detail, a caring and professional demeanour, appearance, and a willingness to do whatever is required in providing excellence in customer service. Funeral Attendants do need to possess a clean driver's abstract and a minimum of 3 year's driving experience.


You will:

Assist in preparing and working funeral services Set up the chapel or church for the funeral service, including items that are particular to the service such as flowers, photo displays, memorabilia, or culturally specific items Load funeral vehicles with required equipment Transport families to the service or graveside; to and from the home residence Welcome families to the chapel for funeral or visitation services Hand out funeral service folders and providing seating guidance (ushering) Bring the casket or urn into the chapel Assist licensed directors with daily tasks Provide care and upkeep of Funeral Home facilities, equipment, grounds and vehicles Other duties as assigned

What You Bring:

Completion of the Funeral Director diploma or enrollment in the program is considered an asset Professional, helpful, and caring demeanour Able to lift, push, pull, and be on your feet throughout the day Current Class 5 (non GDL) driver's license with a driver's abstract with six or less demerits Clean driving record and insured for a minimum of 3 years Excellent oral communication skills. A second language is considered an asset Strong customer service skills Sensitivity to cultural practices A clear background check (Security Clearance) Availability to work all shifts as scheduled, including weekends and holidays with the ability to work past scheduled hours as required to meet the needs of the families we serve
