Job Overview:



In the position of the Fundraising & Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the development and execution of strategic fundraising & marketing initiatives that align with SARA's mission and goals. You will play a pivotal role in driving the organization's visibility, donor engagement, and financial sustainability. This role requires creativity, strategic thinking, collaborating with key stakeholders, and leveraging your expertise to cultivate relationships and secure funding from diverse sources. You will lead the design and implementation of donor-centered campaigns, oversee grant writing and reporting, and manage digital outreach to ensure consistent and compelling messaging. Your work will directly support the expansion of SARA's programs and services, helping to create safe, empowering spaces for women in our community. You will also contribute to long-term planning, represent the organization at public events, and foster a culture of philanthropy across all levels of the organizations.

Organizational Status:



SARA is a non-profit organization providing safe refuge and community-based resources for women in Mission and Abbotsford. SARA stands for Support, Acceptance, Resources and Action. SARA operates transitional, short and long-term housing facilities, as well as counselling and outreach services. SARA is a member of BCGEU and has unionized and excluded employees. SARA for Women is supported through government and non-government grants, financial endowments and charitable donations.

Responsibilities and Duties:



Fundraising Strategy & Donor Relations



Develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies that support the organization's overall goals and objectives.

Identify, cultivate and solicit major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners.

Lead planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns, ensuring alignment with the brand and mission.

Write compelling grant proposals and applications.

Track donations and generate reports using Donor Perfect.

Maintain donor database (Donor Perfect, Constant Contact, etc.) and ensure compliance with ethical standards.

Monitor and analyze fundraising metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies and make data-driven decisions.

Train volunteers in fundraising practices.

Analyze donor feedback and campaign performance.

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing donors while actively seeking new funding opportunities.

Marketing & Communications

Develop marketing strategies to boost brand awareness and donor loyalty.

Manage social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram) and paid promotions.

Create engaging content for newsletters, storytelling, and campaigns.

Oversee website updates and digital communications.

Respond to communication issues swiftly and professionally.

Produce media activity reports and campaign analytics.

Leadership & Administration

Supervise and guide a Community Engagement Worker and two Administrative Clerks.

Manage fundraising and donation budgets.

Ensure alignment of all third-party fundraising with SARA's mission and values.

Provide strategic input on new projects and initiatives.

Address problems and troubleshoot campaigns

Analyze donor feedback and campaign performance

Qualifications and Experience:



Bachelor's degree in fundraising, marketing, or a related field

A minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role in fundraising or marketing.

Non-profit experience is preferred

Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Strong understanding of Donor Perfect and Constant Contact.

Experience with Canva and content creation.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

This position pays an annual salary of $75,000 to $85,000 depending on experience, plus extended health benefits, a municipal pension plan, and a competitive vacation package.
