(Temporary) Fundraising Assistant, Winnipeg
We have the opportunity for a collaborative, service-focused individual to support our team as a Fundraising Assistant to provide administrative and customer service fundraising support for the upcoming Sun Life Walk to Cure Diabetes (Walk) for JDRF. You will be responsible for contacting Walk participants to tele-recruit, register, confirm participation and share information. This position is ideal for someone who loves speaking on the phone and interacting with participants and donors on a daily basis, and also who may be interested in getting exposure to the fundraising industry.
This is a temporary full-time contract position beginning in March until mid-June 2023.
Here\xe2\x80\x99s what your primary responsibilities would be:
  • Contacting and confirming past, current and potential participants for peer-to-peer fundraising events primarily through telephone communication.
  • Using JDRF\xe2\x80\x99s database system, check and update participant information and report on all communications.
  • Assist in customer service and administrative inquiries regarding the fundraising programs
  • Assist staff in the development and implementation of various fundraising projects including volunteer and event coordination (logistics, correspondence support, telephone correspondence, etc.)
  • Assist with the implementation and follow-up activities for fundraising events including monitoring results, final reports and the recognition and stewardship of donors
  • Development of promotional and stewardship materials
  • Work with and support volunteer committees as needed
  • Make donation requests
  • Prepare letters, detailed reports, emails and other material for distribution
  • Maintain a high level of customer service to all donors, volunteers and supporters
  • General administrative duties as required

Here\xe2\x80\x99s what we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:
  • Experience in a customer service role with a strong focus on telephone communications; Professional and personable phone demeanor is required
  • Experience in a fundraising-related role is an asset
  • College diploma in general administration, Event Planning, fundraising or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong written communication skills to be able to communicate with donors and other constituents
  • High degree of attention to detail and ability to keep organized with multiple concurrent tasks
  • Aptitude for learning new computer systems quickly, including CRM databases; Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 suite
  • Self-starter and solutions-focused; capable of identifying the need for and taking independent action
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently to achieve required deadlines and targets

Other position details to note:
  • Schedule/Hours of Work: This is a temporary full-time (37.5 hours per week, generally regular business hours, Mon-Fri) position beginning March until mid-June 2023.
  • Hourly Wage: $21.00 per hour
  • Location: Flexible within Canada but Winnipeg preferred. We are a remote-first organization so this is a work-from-home (remote) position.
