The Fundraising Assistant will support the Fund Development Coordinator in fundraising efforts and contribute to its long-term sustainability and growth. The FA will play a vital role in maintaining the donor management system, assisting with donor communications, coordinating fundraising activities and ensuring the smooth execution of annual fundraising campaigns and events.
The FA will provide assistance to the Development Team and its initiatives to further the fundraising goals of Lisaard & Innisfree Hospice.
Duties and responsibilities
Assist in maintaining regular communication with donors, supports, and partners.
Assist in engagement with external stakeholders for event coordination and fund development activities.
Researches and develops corporate and community partnerships in coordination with the Fund Development Coordinator
In collaboration with the Fund Development Coordinator, assist with various campaigns, events and initiatives.
Work with the marketing team to develop fundraising materials including social media posts, newsletters and brochures.
Help maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the donor management system.
Provide administrative backup to the Finance & Donor Coordinator for data entry and issuing tax receipts.
Supports the implementation of their strategic plan for fund development and communications.
Assists in fundraising volunteer assignments.
Work with the Fund Development and Communications Team to maximize efforts.
Network with Community Partners and Donors when necessary.
Assist with researching grant opportunities.
Additional tasks may be assigned.
Participation on committees and/or organization events yearly
Qualifications
Graduate of post-secondary program in event management/hospitality, Fund Development and/or community relations
Proven experience in event management
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in fundraising.
Detail orientated and able to maintain accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
Experience with database; previous experience with a donor management database (Donor Perfect) is an asset.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Enthusiastic about building relationships with donors and contributing to fundraising success.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-orientated environment.
Passion for non-profit and an understanding of its significance in the community.
Working conditions
Interacts with donors, residents, family members, staff, and visitors.
Occasional travel between sites.
Occasionally required to work off-site at indoor and outdoor fundraising events.
Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule.
Works in a shared office environment.
