Our client is a national non profit organization and we\'re on the lookout for a fundraising professional, dynamic leader, and people-focused individual.

As our Fund Development Director for BC/Yukon, you excel in building relationships and prioritizing the needs of the community and your team. Working both virtually and in-person, your enthusiasm for recruiting and motivating volunteers, coupled with a talent for achieving ambitious goals, empowers others to rally behind causes they are passionate about.

Collaborating with the Director, Peer to Peer Fundraising, you lead and mentor your team to advance the mission, unlock employee leadership potential, amplify community outreach, boost volunteer engagement, and optimize ethical revenue generation.

In this role that is 50% remote and 50% in-person, you\'ll be actively engaged with constituents in your region, attending meetings and events regularly.

You\'ll focus on coaching your team of direct reports, volunteer leaders, corporate partners, and top fundraisers to expand the organization\'s revenue impact. You will also help raise awareness, connect individuals to the organization\'s programs, and increase the reach of our initiatives within your fundraising community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an annual operational plan to expand the organization\'s impact, focusing on fundraising and partnership development.
  • Personally cultivate and manage a portfolio of prospects while actively participating in acquiring executive-level fundraisers.
  • Identify, recruit, and engage high-level volunteer ambassadors to bolster organization\'s fundraising efforts.
  • Lead and develop your team of talented and passionate fundraisers (direct reports).
  • Forge new partner opportunities to enhance organization\'s campaign support both locally and nationally.
  • Utilize fundraising skills and strategies to strengthen participant relationships and advance organization\'s fundraising programs.
  • Elevate organization\'s profile by fostering positive and enduring relationships within the community.
Education and Experience
  • An Undergraduate degree is required for this position, or equivalent in experience
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible sales or business development experience in a service industry, or ideally senior level fund development leadership with a not-for-profit
  • Knowledge and skill in fundraising management with a proven track record of building fundraising success ideally in corporate development, major giving, and peer-to-peer fundraising
  • Experience in operational management and leading a staff team.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, retain, mentor, motivate and lead a professional team to achieve measured goals and objectives.
  • Proven success in senior volunteer recruitment, management and development
  • Superior interpersonal skills to connect, build and maintain a broad range of relationships
  • Excellent planning, fiscal management and analytical skills
  • Strong written, oral and public presentation skills
Working conditions

50% of time dedicated out of office, educating and informing the community about the organization\'s mission and connecting people * This is a Regionally-based work from home position which is constituent facing and field based.
  • You will be required to regularly attend and support in person meetings and events in your Region.
  • Evening and weekend work occasionally required
  • Valid driver\'s license and access to a vehicle is required for offsite meetings with the blood cancer community, volunteers and other stakeholders
