Responsibilities:
Support individuals to participate in community events and develop socially valued roles in their community
Plan and facilitate group activities
Provide direct support to individuals, being responsive to individual needs with a person-centered focus
Participate in planning and support individuals to attain their goals
Provide virtual learning, recreational and other opportunities
Support individuals' awareness of community services and assist with accessing those services
Perform administrative tasks including documentation and collecting data
Attend, lead, and actively participate in meetings while promoting open communication at all levels
Qualifications:
Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of NHCIA within the workplace and in the community
Demonstration of a rights-based culture and person-centered practices
Ability to think critically and engage in proactive problem solving
Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple focuses
Computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and virtual platforms
Ability to find innovative ways to provide support with a willingness to problem solve creatively, thinking "outside the box"
Post-secondary education in a field relating to disabilities or human services is an asset
Experience working with people with a developmental disability
Experience in program planning and facilitation
Clean criminal record check including vulnerable sector screening
Valid First Aid and CPR certification (emergency level or higher)
A valid full G class driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and $1,000,000 liability coverage
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
