Story Behind the Need:

• Business group: Global Risk Management
• Global Risk Management (GRM) is responsible for determining how much the bank must provision for defaulted loans.
• Project: Global Provisions Platform is a rebranded application that is designed to calculate the expected and provision credit loss (PCL, ECL) for these business lines: Retail Credit Risk across Canadian Banking, International Banking, Wealth and Commercial Banking.
• Purpose of the application is to streamline business processes and to minimize the amount of end-user computing completed by the country managers. Being able to deliver the ECL/PCL faster to the business.

Candidate Value Proposition:

• This position will give the candidate exposure to the Google Cloud Platform and the ability to lead the project team and design and implement solutions.

Typical Day in Role:

• Take on challenging development tasks
• Lead and coordinate deployment to IST, UAT and production
• Lead and attend code review and follow/set/re-enforce standards
• Can identify risks early in the project and adjust priorities as they come up
• Lead the project team and coach / mentor the junior developers
• Be innovative and suggest process improvements

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

• 8-9 years of experience with Python, Python Flask, MS SQL) All of them.
• 5 years of experience working with Google Cloud services, example: Airflow & Kubernetes, Cloud storage

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Unix OS basics (Building commands)
• Capital Market knowledge
• SAS development experience,
• Docker configurations
• Front-end development experience
• Optimization of database performance

Soft Skills Required:

• Ambitious, self-starter, positive attitude, strong communication skills,

Best VS. Average Candidate:

• The Best candidate is ambitious, is a full-stack developer, and can lead the team. Can present and articulate their ideas to innovate the application.

Education & Certificates:

• Post-Secondary Education is required, but would be preferred in a related field
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science.

Candidate review and selection:

• 2 rounds:

o 1st - hiring manager and Senior Manager - 1 hour - In person - Panel interview, technical assessment,
o 2nd round Solutions Architecture and Data Engineer - Online - Panel interview, Scenario questions and cultural fit.
