Pay Rate:

$26.01/hour

Sign-On Bonus:

$500 for already licensed Alberta Security Guards (conditions apply)

Overview:

Paladin Security is seeking committed, community-minded Healthcare Security Guards to support medical facilities across Alberta. In this role, you will play a critical part in protecting patients, clinical staff, visitors, and the general public. This position requires strong communication, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Healthcare Security offers unique, meaningful experience in de-escalation, violence prevention, and emergency response--often leading to future careers in law enforcement, corrections, and advanced security roles.

Responsibilities:

Monitor patient safety and report concerns to Protective Services or Clinical staff Report all incidents in accordance with site-specific procedures Respond to alarms and emergency calls for service Follow and enforce safety codes, standards, and procedures Handle confidential information with discretion Communicate site activities via two-way radio and computer systems Screen and assist visitors and clients professionally Respond to and de-escalate high-stress situations while maintaining order Ensure safety of patients, staff, and visitors using proper techniques and interventions Log and report incidents from hospital staff, patients, or visitors Maintain detailed logs of patient interactions Respond promptly to emergency calls for assistance

Requirements:

Must live within 30 minutes of Slave Lake, Alberta Must be available for days, evenings, and nights Must be available 7 days a week Availability for a variety of shifts including overnights and weekends Ability to obtain Alberta Security License Valid Class 5 driver's license and personal vehicle Excellent verbal and written communication skills Professional, tactful, and customer-focused demeanor Ability to write detailed reports and maintain accurate logs Strong decision-making skills with composure during emergencies Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to work under pressure and in adverse conditions Ability to walk 18-20 km per shift and climb stairs Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
