We are seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering a positive learning environment, engaging students in the curriculum, and supporting their academic growth. This role requires strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a commitment to student success. Experience in tutoring and working with children is highly valued.
Duties
Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
Create a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and fosters a love of learning.
Assess student performance through various methods, including tests, projects, and presentations, providing constructive feedback.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Utilize technology effectively for instructional purposes, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Collaborate with special education staff to support students with individualized education plans (IEPs).
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends.
Manage classroom behavior effectively while promoting respect and responsibility among students.
Lesson Planning and Teaching skills-Familiar or able to become familiar with OSSD requirements
Science and Math is a strong bonus
The successful candidate must demonstrate native-level fluency in spoken and written English, with strong communication skills suitable for teaching and engaging with students, families, and colleagues.work environment 10-20 students ranging from grade 9-12
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; teaching certification preferred but not required.
Experience working with children in an educational setting is essential; tutoring experience is a plus.
Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities and maintain accurate records.
Excellent communication skills to engage with students, parents, and staff effectively.
Time management skills to balance teaching responsibilities with administrative tasks.
Proficiency in Spanish is desirable but not mandatory; willingness to learn is appreciated.
Familiarity with special education practices is advantageous.
