We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, patient inquiries, and administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental office procedures, and proficiency with electronic medical records systems. Prior dental office experience is highly preferred to ensure smooth daily operations and exceptional patient service.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival
Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer questions, and handle patient inquiries
Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accurately
Prepare and organize patient charts and documentation using Dentrix or Epic software
Collect payments, co-pays, and process billing transactions efficiently
Confirm upcoming appointments and follow up as needed to reduce no-shows
Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to promote a welcoming environment
Assist with administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and correspondence
Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth patient flow throughout the day
Skills
Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Epic is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry
Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) systems and office administration
Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and insurance companies
Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Previous dental office or medical office experience is preferred but not required
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and scheduling
Professional appearance and demeanor suitable for a healthcare setting
