Immigrant Services Communications & Information Specialist FULL TIME Contract START DATE: February 2023 REGION: Waterloo Region & Stratford-Perth, ON Are you passionate about connecting newcomers and their families with local resources and supports? Do you have experience in marketing, engaging the community with effective website, promotion and social media strategies? Do you want to grow and learn as you continue your career? Who we are\xe2\x80\xa6 YMCA Immigrant Services support newcomers: youth and adults in settling in their new society. In addition to Language assessment services, we provide comprehensive one- one, family and group information and orientation sessions, wrap around supports, case management and variety of community connections services to newcomers in Waterloo Region and Stratford-Perth County. The YMCA of Three Rivers is one of the community\xe2\x80\x99s largest non-profit organizations. We are dedicated to the enrichment of our communities through the development of people and families. What you will do\xe2\x80\xa6 You will take creative lead on all mainstream social media channels for Immigrant Services. You will monitor and identify success metrics and develop tools and strategies for brand-building. Your work will provide an engaging and consistent Immigrant Services presence that includes our website, social media, program promotions and community engagement. Your work will ensure that we fulfill the Immigrant Services communications strategies and guidelines identified by the funders and that engage participants and community partners in innovative ways. This work will provide opportunities to participate in community events and YMCA programs that can take place in the evenings and on weekends. What you will bring\xe2\x80\xa6 Ideally, you have 1-3 years of experience in website, promotions, communications and marketing for social service related organizations and are ready to take on a new challenge at this point in your career. You have a passion for connecting with the community and developing creative ways to communicate and share information with diverse group of stakeholders and audiences. You have a commitment to working in socially inclusive environments, responding with sensitivity and personal awareness to diverse needs. You have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with a focus on building strong relationships and partnerships.
