The Bar Manager at Vin Room is responsible for leading all bar operations while delivering an exceptional guest experience that reflects Vin Room's passion for wine, food, and hospitality. This role combines hands-on service leadership, team development, inventory and cost control, and a strong focus on quality, consistency, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service
Lead by example to create a warm, knowledgeable, and welcoming bar experience
Ensure consistent execution of Vin Room service standards, including active service on the floor
Engage with guests to enhance their experience and build long-term relationships
Handle guest feedback professionally and proactively
Team Leadership & Training
Develop strong product knowledge in wine, cocktails, spirits, and service standards in line with the Vin Room established systems and procedures
Create and manage staff schedules aligned with business needs, in coordination with General Manager
Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative team culture
Beverage Program & Operations
Oversee daily bar operations, including opening and closing procedures
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation
Collaborate with leadership on beverage menu execution and standards
Ensure compliance with all liquor laws, health, and safety regulations
Inventory & Cost Control
Manage ordering, receiving, and inventory of all approved bar products
Monitor beverage costs, control waste, and manage variances
Conduct regular monthly inventory counts and reporting
Financial & Administrative Duties
Support sales goals through effective merchandising and upselling
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and profitability
Qualifications & Skills
Previous experience as a Bar Manager or in a senior bartending role
Strong wine knowledge and passion for beverage service (WSET or similar an asset)
Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Able to take a section if required
