nugget.ai is sourcing and screening candidates on behalf of our client, Mortgage Automator. nugget.ai will be responsible for application and screening processes, and if you’re selected, Mortgage Automator will be responsible for the interview stage of the hiring process. Location : Toronto, ON (hybrid) Employment Type : Full-time Duration : Permanent About the company: Mortgage Automator was started in 2013 as a company that created a simple document generating tool for a small private lender in Toronto, Canada. The idea was to relieve the company from their redundant day-to-day tasks, and instead help them concentrate on growing and managing their business. It worked so well that the product was made available to everyone in the industry! Since then, the software has evolved significantly to encompass every possible feature and account for all the unique lending scenarios. Mortgage Automator was officially re-launched in 2019 and won the Supplier Innovator of the Year Award from the Canadian Mortgage Awards of Excellence the same year! It continues to evolve, with new features added weekly. Yet at its core Mortgage Automator is a cloud-based CRM that fully automates a private lending business of any size: from document generation, compliance and reporting, to helping manage investor relations. Responsibilities:

• Handle most of the front-end development of the product (front-end heavy role)
• Use knowledge of back-end to guide front-end development
• Independently learn and understand the code with little to no guidance/training
• Navigate the code to increase efficiencies, solve problems, and improve techniques

• College diploma or bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field preferred
• 2-3 years experience in coding (intermediate level coder)
• Experience with Java frameworks required
• Comfort or experience with LCHH format/model
• Experience with LAMP stack (no framework) required
• Experience with HTML/CSS/PhP required
• Able to work with little to no onboarding, guidance, or supervision
• Strong problem-solving, time management, and communication skills
• Experience in a start-up environment strongly preferred
• Experience in finance/fintech companies an asset
