Web Team Lead Full Stack Developer

ESG is looking for a Full Stack Developer who can lead a development team as they build a production level web application for viewing and analyzing seismic data. As a leader in our software team, the specialist will work with new and established technologies as part of an Agile group of developers under the supervision of a software architect. Primary duties will include:

  • Guiding a team of web developers in the use of standard web technologies and best practices
  • Working with back-end systems (REST APIs and database systems) to pull data and store inputs
  • Developing new APIs to allow clients to pull data from our system and to pass data within our systems
  • Augmenting and maintaining back-ends written in Java and Node.js
  • Guiding the development of user interfaces in a React framework
  • Setting up and maintaining a web server in conjunction with IT team
Qualifications and Experience
  • University or college education in Engineering, Computing, Physics, or Applied Math
  • At least 5 years of experience as a full stack developer
  • Familiarity with Javascript, HTML 5.0, CSS, React, Redux
  • Familiarity with Java, Tomcat (or other web servers), modern databases (relational and no-SQL), js
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs
  • Experience working with js is an asset
  • Experience working with binary data structures is an asset
  • Experience working with AWS cloud systems is an asset
  • A strong mathematical background and aptitude for developing scientific or quantitative code is an asset
  • Ability to contribute in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivated; able to work autonomously
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
