Position Overview



The Fuel Procurement role supports the efficient and cost-effective supply of fuel to all BBFD sites. This position involves data entry, load tracking, inventory monitoring, trend analysis, and communication with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with numbers, and capable of identifying patterns related to fuel demand, pricing, and logistics.

Weekend and statutory holiday coverage is required. Additional shifts may be scheduled to cover team vacations or operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Fuel Data & Analysis

Accurately input daily fuel volumes, load information, inventory data, and delivery metrics into company systems.

Review data to identify trends, irregularities, seasonal patterns, and supply/demand fluctuations.

Prepare basic summary reports for supervisors using Excel (e.g., pivot tables, charts, formulas).

Verify data for completeness and accuracy, flag discrepancies promptly.

Procurement & Logistics Support

Assist with monitoring fuel levels at sites and communicating with carriers or suppliers as needed.

Track inbound and outbound deliveries and ensure documentation is accurate and complete.

Maintain digital and written logs in accordance with company procedures.

Communication & Coordination

Communicate professionally with colleagues, suppliers, drivers, and site contacts.

Escalate issues such as shortages, delivery delays, or system errors to the supervisor.

Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.

General Administrative Duties

Maintain organized, accurate records and documentation.

Follow all company policies, including safety and environmental procedures.

Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture.

Support additional duties as assigned to meet team and operational objectives.

Qualifications



Completion of secondary school; post-secondary training in accounting, logistics, data analysis, or a related field is an asset.

Experience in procurement, logistics, dispatch, fuel distribution, or administrative operations is preferred.

Intermediate Excel skills required (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, filters, pivot tables, charts, formulas).

Bookkeeping or numerical data-entry experience strongly preferred.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and recognize trends.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Effective verbal and written communication skills in Canadian English.

Working Conditions



2 to 4 hours during the weekend and statutory holidays, with additional shifts to cover employee vacations.

Remote role with optional hybrid days in Penticton, BC, depending on preference and operational needs.
