Front-of-House Manager

to lead our service team, elevate guest experiences, and strengthen community engagement as we continue to grow under new ownership.

Position Summary



The Front-of-House (FOH) Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional hospitality and ensuring smooth, efficient service operations. This role focuses primarily on front-of-house leadership and guest experience, with strong coordination across departments but

without direct responsibility for kitchen operations

.

Reporting directly to ownership, the FOH Manager leads our serving and support teams, upholds high service standards, and plays a key role in community events and guest-focused initiatives. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, positive, and passionate about creating memorable dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities



Lead, mentor, schedule, and support front-of-house staff, including servers, bartenders, hosts, and support team members. Ensure exceptional guest service through ongoing coaching, clear expectations, and consistent standards. Run daily FOH operations, ensuring smooth service flow and proactive resolution of issues. Collaborate closely with the Kitchen Manager, Brewmaster, and Executive Chef to maintain timing, communication, and consistency across departments. Manage FOH labour, scheduling, staffing levels, hiring, and training. Plan and execute community events, promotions, and guest-focused initiatives. Assist with social media content and event promotion as needed. Maintain compliance with health, safety, and liquor regulations. Handle guest concerns with professionalism and a solutions-focused approach. Represent Barley Station at community and beer-related events with warmth and enthusiasm.

Qualifications



3-5 years of hospitality experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or management role. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and coach staff. A genuine passion for hospitality, service excellence, and growing team culture. Excellent communication and conflict-resolution abilities. Familiarity with scheduling, POS systems, cash handling, and basic administrative responsibilities. Understanding of BC liquor laws and general safety/health regulations. Experience running events or community initiatives is an asset. Interest in craft beer (or willingness to learn). Comfort with basic social media use is an asset. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and peak periods.
