Job Description

Pioneer Construction is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Loader Operator. This position is in Sudbury, Ontario, and will be operating in pits and quarries feeding a crusher. This is a full-time seasonal position available with an extensive benefits package, a company pension plan, and competitive wages.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Safely operate a front-end loader. Perform mandatory pre and post vehicle inspections. Perform daily pre-ops and attend daily safety meetings. Identify, report and correct hazards. Maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment. Perform regular cleaning of motor vehicles and mobile equipment to control dust (inside and outside cab). Physical work includes lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, crouching, climbing, crawling and reaching repeatedly throughout the workday. Travel to job sites with overnight stays on occasion. Scheduled shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required. Constantly monitor vehicle fitness, and ever-changing conditions. Maintain accurate electronic hour of service logs and vehicle inspections. Team player and display professionalism toward our company and customers. Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications:

Education:

Valid G class drivers license is required. Minimum 1 year experience operating a front-end loader is required. Experience in pits and quarries is considered an asset. Surface Miner Common Core is considered an asset. High school diploma or equivalent is considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Ability to repetitively lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lbs. Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
