Type: Internal & External- Part-Time (Indeterminate)

Hours of Work: 16 hours per week - Saturday and Sunday, from 11:30pm to 8:00am

Compensation: Internal: $18.77 - $19.71/hr External: $18.77 (In process of being classified)

Program & Location: Flint Hotel - Downtown Eastside, Vancouver

Union: BC Government Employee's Union (BCGEU) - This position requires union membership

The Opportunity:



The position of front-desk worker is to assist the program manager in maintaining the safety and security of the premises, answering the phone, directing callers to the appropriate person, taking messages, undertaking hourly floor checks, doing health and wellness checks as necessary, and other duties as may be assigned by the building/program manager.

You are committed to working with people who are struggling with substance use or mental wellness and understand and are comfortable working within a harm reduction environment. You Also Have:



Proven initiative, judgement, decision-making and problem-saving capabilities. Proven ability to develop and maintain rapport with tenants, your co-workers, and other stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to organize and carry out work with independence. Physical ability to perform the duties and carry out heavy cleaning duties

Additional Requisites/Assets:




No formal education required. One (1) month recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Knowledge of community issues is an asset. A Non-violent crisis intervention certificate is required. A valid First Aid certificate is required. WHMIS training required and can be provided
