About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and professional Linguistic Manager for the French-Canadian market to join the Localization team at Gap Inc. This position requires a strong linguist with experience in translation, transcreation and machine translation post-editing, preferably in retail, marketing, internal communications, and legal realms who is also comfortable with project management. This role will partner closely with French linguists and language service providers, being the subject matter expert regarding content applicability for the Qu\xc3\xa9bec/Canada region, brands\' tone of voice, stylistic and linguistic requirements all while working alongside the Localization team to support and strengthen business partner relationships cross functionally.

What You\'ll Do

• Provide subject matter expertise and be an advocate for the French Canada (FRCA) language, ensuring compliancy with linguistic laws in Qu\xc3\xa9bec/Canada, regionally relevant content, and respect of each brands\' voice.
• Complete FRCA translations, linguistic reviews, in-context reviews, and light formatting.
• Drive linguistic excellence and compliance by providing education, linguistic training, and ongoing feedback on FRCA translation quality to other linguists and language service providers (LSPs).
• Assist with interviewing, testing and qualifying of new FRCA linguists and language service providers as required.
• Update/maintain the FRCA Style Guide/Terminology and perform terminology research.
• Accountable for the accuracy of the FRCA Translation Memory (\xe2\x80\x9cTM\xe2\x80\x9d) in the Translation Management System (TMS). Coordinate with FRCA linguists and language service providers to ensure TMS is regularly updated.
• Review, prioritize, and manage deadlines, issues and queries that affect localized content to ensure internal stakeholder\'s expectations are met and projects are delivered on time with high quality translations.
• Build external and internal cross-functional partnerships and assert localization expertise to deepen collaboration with business partners, language service providers and linguists.

Support internal teams in continually improving processes and identify areas in the localization project workflow that could be improved.

Who You Are

• Native level proficiency in French (Canada) and fluent in English (both written and spoken).
• Experienced French

English translator with transcreation ability. * Experience creating, managing and maintaining language materials, including glossaries, terminologies and style guides.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to learn new localization tools and applications quickly.
• Ability and willingness to train/teach others and pass on knowledge.
• Comfortable using a variety of publishing tools and is thoughtful in the delivery of information while working on diverse content.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong service mindset with the ability to provide a high level of service to internal customers.
• Prior experience in retail or fashion is an asset.
• Prior experience in XTM is an asset.
