We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Freight Forwarder to join our dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the transportation of goods, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and carriers. This role requires a solid understanding of supply chain management, transportation logistics, and customer relationship management to effectively coordinate shipments and optimize processes.
Duties
Coordinate and manage the movement of freight from origin to destination, ensuring timely delivery.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients, carriers, and vendors to facilitate smooth operations.
Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) to track shipments and manage logistics data.
Negotiate contracts and pricing with carriers while ensuring compliance with FDA regulations.
Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs paperwork.
Conduct data entry for shipment details, pricing information, and customer interactions in CRM software.
Collaborate with sales teams to generate leads and support inside sales efforts related to logistics services.
Monitor shipment status and resolve any issues that may arise during transit.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in freight forwarding.
Experience
Proven experience in supply chain management or logistics, preferably within a freight forwarding environment.
Familiarity with 3PL (third-party logistics) operations and NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) practices is advantageous.
Strong skills in transportation planning, negotiation, account management, and B2B sales.
Proficient in using CRM software for managing customer relationships and sales management activities.
Knowledge of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) systems and Logitude is a plus.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
