Reporting to the Associate Manager of Photography, the Photographer is responsible for ready-to-wear and still life photography, and the quality control of lighting and image assets for e-commerce. As part of our best-in-class Studio Visual Production team, the Photographer will ensure all images are consistent with the SSENSE style guide and that production and productivity targets are met. The ideal candidate has great attention to detail and relevant knowledge in fashion and photography. This role works cross-functionally and requires a highly collaborative style with the ability to influence and motivate to drive performance results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

E-commerce Photography - 90%

  • Photograph e-commerce images for both ready-to-wear and still life products
  • Perform image processing and transfer to Retouchers as per SSENSE guidelines
  • Ensure images are in order, lighting is consistent and naming conventions are correct on a daily basis
  • Maintain strict standards of quality control, staying up-to-date with SSENSE art direction
  • Monitor all studio photography equipment and inform the Associate Manager of Photography of maintenance requests
  • Shoot model castings, as required
  • Assist on editorial and creative marketing shoots and ad hoc projects, as required
Continuous Improvement - 10 %
  • Proactively make recommendations to the Associate Manager of Photography on workflow and processes
  • Stay up-to-date on industry tools, techniques, and best practices in photography
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts or College diploma in Photography, or a relevant field
  • A minimum 1 year experience in commercial photography
  • Advanced knowledge of CaptureOne, Adobe Photoshop and image processing
  • Advanced knowledge of photography and lighting
  • Experience in the fashion industry and/or e-commerce, an asset
  • Experience working in with Mac OSX, Filezilla, Google Drive and Adobe suite
  • Proven experience using digital cameras and professional lighting equipment
