Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and culturally knowledgeable Nepali interpreter to join our team on a freelance contract basis - with immediate availability to take on assignments and projects. The ideal candidate will facilitate clear communication and cultural understanding between Nepali and English speakers in various settings, with a focus on social services, legal proceedings and medical contexts.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide virtual interpretation services via Zoom and Microsoft Teams Accurately interpret between Nepali and English, maintaining the content and spirit of the original message Explain cultural nuances and customs to facilitate better understanding Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics
Qualifications:

Fluency in Nepali and English Demonstrated aptitude in maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information Familiarity with problem-solving and conflict resolution High level of comfort with legal and medical terminology Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Reliable internet connection and quiet workspace for virtual meetings
Preferred (but not mandatory):

Certification in interpretation or related field Minimum of 1 year customer service experience
Technical Requirements:

Proficiency in using Zoom and Microsoft Teams Familiarity with virtual interpretation tools and best practices
