We are seeking a skilled Freelance IT Technician to provide remote and on-site technical support to clients across various industries. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing IT infrastructure, and delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong analysis skills, extensive knowledge of operating systems, networks, and security protocols, and the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly. Responsibilities
Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues across multiple platforms including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Troubleshoot software problems related to Microsoft Office, Active Directory, SCCM, GPO, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, TCP/IP configurations, and network administration.
Manage computer systems and peripherals such as desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and printers.
Assist with the setup and configuration of IT infrastructure components including LAN/WAN networks, Meraki devices, and network security measures.
Perform desktop support tasks including OS installation/updates, hardware repairs, and system optimization.
Support help desk operations using tools like ServiceNow and Jira; document issues and resolutions accurately.
Monitor network performance and security using tools such as BMC Remedy and analyze logs for troubleshooting.
Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and deliver effective solutions while maintaining excellent customer service skills.
Maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and problem resolutions for future reference.
Experience
Proven experience in IT support or help desk roles with a strong understanding of computer hardware and operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
Hands-on knowledge of software troubleshooting including Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise applications like SCCM and ServiceNow.
Familiarity with network administration concepts such as LAN/WAN setup, TCP/IP protocols, DNS/DHCP management, VPNs (e.g., Meraki), firewalls, TCP/UDP traffic analysis.
Experience with Active Directory management, Group Policy Objects (GPO), Windows Server environments (including Microsoft Windows Server), BMC Remedy tickets system or similar tools.
Ability to troubleshoot computer networking issues involving TCP/IP configurations and network security protocols.
Strong communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
