JOB PURPOSE

The Carpenter/Cabinet Maker is responsible for performing carpentry or cabinet making work at the journeyman level.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must hold a Provincial Certificate of Qualification issued under the Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification Act as a carpenter or cabinet maker. Must have two years of experience. Must have a valid drivers license. Ability to attend work on a regular basis. Ability to perform the duties of the position. Good work record.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Carpenter/Cabinet Maker is responsible for:

Planning work and estimating time and materials Fabricating, repairing or installing cabinets, shelves, windows or doors Inspecting, renovating or repairing the interior or exterior of buildings Performing preventative maintenance Designing or building special applications for patient care Installing, finishing or repairing walls, ceilings, floors and fixtures Organizing or coordinating work Ordering and maintaining inventory and transporting materials
