Fuimus Construction is a respected small construction business in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), led by a highly experienced carpenter, we specialize in quality custom residential and commercial projects. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Lead Hand Framing Carpenter to join our dedicated crew.

This role is ideal for an experienced, driven individual who takes ownership of their work, is a strong, level-headed leader, and is eager to contribute to the success of every project.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Hand Duties

: Act as a working lead, directing 1-2 crew members on-site while reporting directly to the Head Carpenter/Site Supervisor.

Framing Expertise:

Perform all aspects of framing, including reading blueprints, laying out walls, floors, and roofs, cutting, assembling, and installing structural elements for residential and light commercial projects.

Quality Control:

Ensure all work meets the high-quality standards of Fuimus Construction and follows all building codes and safety regulations.

Site Management:

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site. Manage materials efficiently to prevent delays.

Professional Communication:

Exhibit a level-headed and respectful demeanor when interacting with team members, subcontractors, and clients.

Flexibility:

While expected to operate independently, you must be capable of receiving and executing instructions from management to align with project goals and client expectations.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Between

3-5

years of experience in residential or commercial framing.

Proven ability to perform as a Lead Hand or equivalent supervisory experience is a strong asset.

Must possess a valid Class 5 Nova Scotia

Driver's License

and have reliable transportation to and from job sites across the HRM.

Own a complete set of trade-related

hand tools

.

A Red Seal designation is considered a significant advantage.

Compensation & Benefits:

Wage:

$23.00 - $33.00

per hour, based on experience and proven skill level.

Interviews for selected candidates are held on-site, followed by a one-week paid trial period.
